This wall-hanging was built in many steps. First I marbled fabric created in blues and greens. Next, I painted a large piece of muslin in three shades of blue. Then I appliqued the cut marbled fabric and appliqued three pre-printed birds. Each applique is surrounded in a variety of stitches in contrasting thread colors and a embellished with a button. One bird is flying in a "cloud" made of netting that I melted slightly. The back has one sweet rose applique and three tabs for hanging. The final step attach a special blue knitted yarn ribbon to the sides and then to stitch all the layers together at the edging. The finished size is 20"x28".
